Ar dtús, ba mhaith liom Áth-bhliain faoi a mhaise a ghuí oraibh agus ar bhur gclann ar fad.
I would firstly like to wish you and your families a Happy New Year. I hope you had a peaceful and restful Christmas break and we look forward to the coming term.
As you are aware, Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh will re-open tomorrow 6th January, after our Christmas break. Although we are confident that our school community will once again face up to the challenges of Covid-19, I am sure you will agree that this will require us all to redouble our efforts, and to be hypervigilant over the coming weeks.
It is imperative that parents/ guardians familiarise themselves with the most current HSE advice (available from this link https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/). Students should not attend school if they are demonstrating ANY symptoms and parents/guardians should take a precautionary approach in all instances.
Due to the widespread nature of the virus at present, it is inevitable that some school staff will be unavailable for work in the coming days and weeks. This is a very challenging situation that we will endeavour to manage as best as we can. Our priority is to ensure the health and safety of all of our students and staff.
The school is currently awaiting delivery of Hepa Filters for each classroom – we hope to have them installed early next week. We do advise that all children continue to wear warm clothes to school as ventilation is still very important in all situations (base layers/tights/vests, etc).
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
Ruairí Ó hAnnluain.
