Comortas labhairt na Gaeilge (Irish speaking competition)
The Galway Fleadh takes place in Ballinasloe from Friday May 20 to Sunday 22. Over the past number of years children from our school have taken part in ‘Comortas labhairt na Gaeilge’ – the Irish speaking competition. We have had success at county, provincial and All-Ireland levels.
This is a very good opportunity for the children to practice their Irish and to show how much Irish they have.
Children who would like to take part in the competition must fill in the form below and return it to the school with the €2 registration fee (which goes to Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann ) on or before Monday, 04/04/22.
Parents accompany their children to the competition and stay in the room with them for the competition. The competition takes roughly one and a half hours.

Details of times and exact venues for ‘Comórtas Labhairt na Gaeilge 2022’ are not available at this time, but we will inform you as soon as we receive this information. Applications must be entered at least six weeks before the competitions.
The age groups for the competition are as follows:
Under 9
9 – 11 years
11- 13 years
13-15 years
