I hope that you are all well. Below please find a letter from Bishop Michael about the plans that need to be made for the celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation this autumn.

Dear Parents,
I hope you and your family are keeping very well. I am writing to you about the Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation 2020. Given the current situation, the Diocese of Clonfert will not be in a position to reschedule the Celebration of Confirmation until Autumn 2020. Everything that can be done is being done to ensure that it takes place and it will in due course.
However, at that stage many will have made the move to secondary school. It is important that continuing contact is kept between you and your local parish and primary school with regard to the celebration of the Sacrament. To assist with this please:
Find attached a re-enrolment form for Confirmation 2020 – please fill it in and include it with a letter from the child to your local parish priest letting him know that he/she still wishes to be confirmed. Please make sure he receives this before Sunday 31st of May 2020. Letters and forms can be emailed to stmichaelsballinasloe@clonfertdiocese.ie
All children who are due to make their confirmation and their families have been invited to take part in a special online Mass (with Bishop Michael) from the Cathedral in Loughrea at www.loughreacathedral.ie on Pentecost Sunday, 31st May 2020 at 12 noon.
