Nóta do Thuistí  22/06/20

A Thuistí, a Chairde,

Táimid beagnach críochnaithe agus tá na laethanta saoire beagnach anseo!

We are nearly finished school for the summer and the holidays are almost upon us!

It has been a most unusual year, and well done to us all for getting this far. We have been staying at home, working remotely, and communicating virtually for the last 14 weeks – it hasn’t been easy, but we have come through it. We are very proud of all the children and of how they have coped and engaged. A huge thanks to all our parents who were out there on the frontline keeping us safe. This is a time that each one of us will never forget for many varied and different reasons!

We do have good news! Our efforts over the last number of months have helped us come to a point where the full reopening of schools in September can be planned. We will all be delighted when this takes place safely. The Department of Education will hopefully issue guidelines for schools today (Monday). As soon as we are clear about future plans we will be in contact without delay.

This year still needs to be finished off properly! You will notice that our teachers have not posted any menus of work this week. Last week they posted a range of extra fun activities that the children can continue to engage with this week if that suits. Well done to all the children who have already taken part in our virtual Sports Day, and well done to all who travelled to San Diego among other places on their school tours!

We look forward to Rang a Sé graduating on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Unfortunately, we are unable to have our usual Céimniú (Graduation ceremony)  this year. However, we do plan on having a very special virtual graduation on Thursday, preparations for which have been underway for the last 6 weeks to ensure that this will be a unique and memorable event.

On Friday morning at 10.30 a.m. we will have our final Tionól (assembly) of the year, and we will say goodbye to all our classes for the summer and wish everyone a happy and safe break. Details of how to join in will be sent by email/text.

Booklists will be posted on our school website this week. Many parents have had questions about school jumpers, and how they can be purchased this year. We are working with the distributor to ensure that our school jumper will be available to purchase online from our supplier, ‘The School Warehouse’. I will pass on further details when I have them.

Have a good week!

Tabhair Aire agus fan slán,

Ruairí agus foireann.

Nóta do Thuistí 25/05/20

A Thuistí,

Bhí sé deas bualadh libh an tseachtain seo caite agus na leabhair á dtabhairt amach againn. Tá sé iontach go dtuigeann sibh go bhfuil an scoil anseo le cabhrú libh ag an am deacair seo.

Tá amchláracha na seachtaine seo curtha suas ag na múinteoirí.

It was lovely to meet so many of you last week when we distributing the books. It is very good for us to know that you appreciate the work that the staff are putting in to support families, and that you understand that the school is not here to make anyone feel under pressure.

This week’s menus of work have been uploaded to the Class Pages and are available.

This is to be a good week!! The more time that our children can spend outside this week the better!!

Tabhair aire agus fan sábháilte,

Ruairí.

Nóta ó Ruairí 18/05/20

A Thuistí agus a Pháistí,

Tá súil agam go bhfuil sibh ar fad comh-sásta agus gur féidir libh a bheith ag an am seo.

Seachtain nua ag tosú anois agus tá obair curtha suas ag na múinteoirí do na páistí ar fad.

I hope that everyone is safe and well as we start another week of ‘school-at-home’. The teachers have prepared work for all classes on each class page – the code is the same as last week. Keep up all the great work!

Please keep the photos and the stories coming in!

We had a most enjoyable live ZOOM assembly last Monday, it was lovely to see so many faces – we will  most definitely have another in a week or two.

Make sure to keep in contact with your class teacher.

Many events have been postponed and cancelled – hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be able to get more clarity about when things might take place – as soon as we have information we will share it with you.

Saturday should be our First Holy Communion Day, as we did with Rang 5 agus Rang 6 last week, we are going to organise a special meet-up via Zoom for all the children of Rang a Dó at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Have a good week,

Tabhair aire agus bí sábháilte,

Ruairí agus Foireann.
