A Thuistí,
Táimid ag obair go dian ar ár bpleanna chun an scoil a oscailt go luath!
We are working hard on our plans for the safe re-opening of our school in two weeks!
This has been a most unusual year, and our new school year will be just as strange. Usually we would able to let you accompany your child into the classroom on the first day of ‘Big School’. However, due to the current situation, this is no longer possible.
We are putting other plans in place to make your child’s first days in school as enjoyable as possible. We would like to invite every new member of Naíonáin Bheaga and their parent(s) to come on a special visit to school on Monday, 31st August, to meet the teacher and to see your child’s new classroom. At this meeting the children will get to meet with Múinteoir Gráinne, and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. We hope that this meeting, on the day before school starts, will help with the settling in process.
Below you will see the timetable for our meetings and a brief note from Múinteoir Gráinne. If you cannot attend this meeting, please let us know by contacting the office on (090) 9644347 or by email at oifig@gaelscoil.ie
As part of our COVID-19 Response Plan, all families will have staggered arrival and finishing times* – these times will be published in the coming days (as part of our ‘COVID-19 Response Plan’).
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- For the first week, Naíonáin Bheaga’s arrival time will be 9.15 a.m. and they will finish at 12 noon.
- Naíonáin Bheaga will use the big white door into the hall morning and evening. (On the first morning we will take a First Day Photo!).
- A number of staff will be on hand with Múinteoir Gráinne to receive the children each morning, and to make the experience is as enjoyable as possible.
- At noon, the children will line up in the hall with Múinteoir Gráinne, and the children will be collected individually from the door, in a socially distanced manner.
- *We hope that from Monday, September 7th, Naíonáin Bheaga will be able to come to school as per the ‘Whole School Staggered Timetable’.
Regular updates regarding our ‘Return To School’ will be posted on our school website, and sent via e-mail over the next fortnight.
Ag súil le bualadh libh Dé Luain, 31/08/20.
Ruairí Ó hAnnluain,
Príomhoide.

Dear parents,
Please find the timetable for you and your child’s visit to Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh on Monday the 31st of August. Unfortunately, the visits will be limited to twenty minutes and only four/ five children and their parent(s) shall be present at any one time. Parents will be required to socially distance while in the school.
I would be very grateful if you could bring your child’s schoolbooks, copies, folders, glue and the school pencil case (including pencils, colours and eraser) with you on Monday as these will remain in school for the year.
Looking forward to meeting you all on Monday August 31st!
Is mise le meas,
Múinteoir Gráinne
